Accredited Forester Training Program – Graduate Foresters Only

Join us to learn about the new voluntary accreditation program for professional foresters in Tennessee as well as the Tennessee Landscape Management Plan online tool soon to be available from the Division of Forestry. The Tennessee Forestry Foundation (TFF) has received an award from the Tennessee Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to assist landowners by eliminating barriers to better forest management. One of the barriers landowners tell us they have is finding the right professional to help them. As a part of this award, TFF is implementing the Tennessee Accredited Forester Council to recognize and promote professional foresters across the state. The training will focus on the benefits to you as a professional forester, the details of the program, application and renewal process, including CEU’s, and the promotion webpages to be housed under the Tennessee Forestry Association website.

An additional barrier landowners face is the need for an individualized forest management plan to participate in forest certification programs, such as the American Tree Farm System, and landowner assistance programs. Learn what the Tennessee Landscape Management Plan is how it can be utilized by Division of Forestry foresters, consulting foresters, and industry foresters to overcome this barrier bringing previously unengaged landowners to the table and promoting conservation initiatives.

Please pre register with TFA to attend.

Water is pumped from Nickajack Lake on the Tennessee River (takes 28 hours to fill the reservoir) then the water is released by gravity through an almost 1000-footdeep tunnel to 4 turbine generators taking about 22 hours to empty the reservoir.
