New Strategies for Forest Health & Sustainability on the Cherokee

Kevin Bridges is currently our acting timber CO. He comes from the Blue Ridge and Chattooga River Ranger Districts of the Chattahoochee – Oconee National Forest where he has been since 2014 as the Zone TMA and FSR. He started with the Forest Service as a timber marker on the Sam Houston, then worked as a timber sale prep forester on the Ozark. He got into timber sale admin as a timber sale administrator/forester on the Parks Ranger District of the Medicine Bow – Routt National Forest in Region 2 in 2008. He has also completed a couple of details in Region 2 as a timber CO and a detail as a program CO with Enterprise. He starts his permanent assignment on April 21st.

His wife, Sarah, also works for the Forest Service as the zone silviculturist on the Tusquitee and Cheoah Ranger Districts in Murphy, North Carolina and has been a member of the Region 8 Red Team for fire/incident response. Kevin and Sarah have 2 boys, Levi (12) and Beau (10). Levi is in 7th grade and has become highly active with the Civil Air Patrol in Union County. Beau is in 5th grade and is into wrestling this year. They enjoy doing most anything outdoors
