Trooper Gavin Sullivan serves with distinction as a Commercial Vehicle Safety Specialist for the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), where he focuses on the enforcement of state and federal regulations governing commercial motor vehicles. With 17 years of law enforcement experience, Trooper Sullivan is committed to improving roadway safety by ensuring that commercial vehicles operating in Tennessee meet all safety, regulatory, and compliance standards.

Certified through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Trooper Sullivan performs roadside inspections, investigates commercial vehicle crashes, and conducts New Entrant Safety Audits for FMCSA, helping newly registered motor carriers understand and comply with federal safety regulations. His role is critical in ensuring that new carriers are operating safely and legally from the start, reducing risks to both the trucking industry and the public.

In addition to his field duties, Trooper Sullivan regularly collaborates with local, state, and federal partners, and provides training and mentorship to other troopers in commercial vehicle enforcement. He is highly regarded for his extensive knowledge, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to public safety.
